One of many reasons why I am a rotter.

I'm quitting the picture a day thing.

Boooooooooooooooooooo! I know.

I just do not have the focus for it, people! I have so many hobbies and varied interests, and so little time.

Besides, the pressure to do the picture a day thing is killing my regular blog posts. I don't have a picture, so I don't post. Nobody wants that.... I think? ....Because if you vote "yes" on 'we don't want Sarah to blog anymore', then I'll just have to take my ball and go home.... So to speak.

Ah, just kidding. I don't care if you beg me, I won't stop blogging! Actually, if you beg me to stop, that will probably make me want to blog more.

Anyway...

My baby boy is funny.

Here's why......

I feed him in his diaper, because he never ever ever ever eats without smearing it everywhere.  I hate doing laundry. I'd rather bath a messy baby than scrub stains out of a shirt.

He's very fussy.

Today, he would not eat pizza, because it took too long getting to the table. Pizza!

In other news, I am never cutting his hair.  At least, not until Ty forces me to. Or until he's two.  Why you ask? Because it's Rock Star hair, that's why.

D-man turned the computer off on me, that's why it took me so long to finish this blog post. Not that you knew it, but I started this at 6:32. Then mah baby turned the computer off, so I scolded him, and he burst into tears, so I consoled him, and then we played tag for a while and then I made him supper, and then we were watching the All-Star skills competition and I got distracted, and then I put a load of laundry into the washer, and then I came back to the computer.

And now I'm done.

Oh man....

I have completely failed the picture a day thing. Besides failing it by not starting week one, I just barely completed week two and have bungled, mangled and neglected week 3.

Le sigh.

Week 3 is so woefully incomplete that I can't even link up at Naptime Momtog. I'm far too embarrassed.  Three pictures? That's it?? Like, even if it was four pictures, at least it would be the majority... but nooo. Way to be, me.

Instead, I'm going to drum up some resolve and attack week 4 like a peanut crazy tame-elephant-gone-bad at the circus! You betcha.

In other news...

My neck really hurts. I tweaked it today while getting some plates out of the cupboard at my Mother-in-law's house, and it's been bugging me ever since. Durnit.

How weak am I, that lifting four plates (small plates) out of a cupboard would hurt me so much? Weak little weaky weakling.  I would hang my head in shame, but I think that would hurt too much.

Little D didn't sleep well last night for some reason... he was awake at 3:00, screaming his head off. I thought maybe he had a nightmare or something, because he was so scared that he wouldn't let me go when I picked him up. He squeezed me so tight! So I took him into our bed, and he snuggled close to me, and slept fitfully until 6:00 when Ty woke up and took him downstairs. Maybe that's why my eyes feel so heavy right now... 3:00 a.m. sucks, man.  Nightmares suck, too.

Anyway, I don't really have any purpose or point to write about tonight... I just thought I'd let all of you know I haven't kicked the bucket, yet.

Goodnight, peoples.

Catchup post!

I'm a little behind in my "picture a day" posts... so I'm going to do three at once. These are pictures # 8, 9, and 10.

The little window in the door of the oven is actually pretty cool up close.

This is a macro shot of the side panels of my front door. Stained glass is cool, by the way.

Monkey & Me! :)

I missed a day this week already... Tuesday we had someone come to see our house (no feedback yet... durnit) so I was crazy busy cleaning all day, and then we went to town to get groceries and eat supper, and we didn't get back until late and I just plum forgot to pick up the camera. D'oh.

Project 365, week 2

(Although it's Week One for me because I didn't join in until my big sister bullied me in to it.)

Day 8: My scary eyebrows. You're welcome.

Day 9: The big old chestnut tree outside my window, covered in frost!

Day 10: Who doesn't love hot chocolate? Especially a mug of hot chocolate that loves you back! :)

Day 11: Salt & a mirror.

Day 12: Ty's scary feet. You're welcome.

Day 13: A spotty baby piggy! Awww!

Day 14: My baby, asleep on his Daddy's chair! Awwhaww!

I must say, this project really has me motivated to pick up my camera every day! Which I guess is the point.... so I say, hurrah!

It's Saturday!

I don't have a lot of time!

Someone is coming to see our house this afternoon -Yay!- and so I have to frantically clean everything in my home until I collapse in an exhausted heap on the floor only to pick myself up, shower, shave, and style my person so I can go to town and go shopping! Woooooooooo. (for groceries. boooooo.)

In other words, I don't have a lot of time to be on the computer today.

So, I will just share this link with you, because I have wasted 20 minutes of precious precious time perusing her site and laughing hysterically:

www.pregnantchicken.com

Go there and laugh and laugh, especially if you are someone who has ever been pregnant, but even if you're not.

Next topic! Quickly!

My dog threw up on the kitchen floor this morning. It was not cool. I let her know just how not cool it was by yelling and crying and having a tantrum, because I HATE barf (HAAAATE) and Tyler isn't home (he's usually -and by usually I mean always- the one who cleans up any and all barf) and since I'm cleaning the house for the strangers that will be coming to inspect and judge it, it really wasn't a good time for her to be puking her guts out everywhere. Seriously.

But now I feel bad because I yelled at her and she didn't really mean to hurl, although she could have barfed outdoors because she was outside for 10 minutes before coming into the house, running into the kitchen, and vomiting all over my floor. Sigh.

So I'm a mess. A weepy, giggly, gaggy and crying and frantic mess.

Later on I'll have to post the rest of my pictures for this week, and link up at Naptime Momtog! But I don't have time right now!!!

Gotta run,

---------------------------------------- < that's me running. :)

UPDATE:

The showing was canceled for today, due to adverse weather conditions.  They want to come next Tuesday instead, so cross your fingers, people! :)

Last picture for the week!

Little monkey enjoying a nap on Daddy's chair. Without pants. Because he took them off. And threw them at the dog. :/

You may now begin squeeeeing.

I'm serious, you should. It will be good practice for you.  Because once you scroll down, you won't be able to help it, and if you don't stretch your vocal cords now you could end up doing some damage.

Don't say I didn't warn you....

Cause I totally did......

Last chance......

Okay!

D'aaaaaaaaaaaw haaaaaaaw haw haw haw hawwwwwww!!!

Told you.

This spotty guy is a little F1X piglet from work, I think he's a combination of Yorkshire, Landrace, Hampshire and Duroc bloodlines. Isn't he so cute??

He's even cuter when you see his back, he's all spotty! :)
This is picture # 6 in my photo-a-day challenge!

There isn't much to say about this one.... it was late, I was tired, and didn't have any other ideas. Or if I did have any other ideas, they stunk.

It's Ty's feet... yes I know... lovely, aren't they?

I like how this one turned out. :)

My brother-in-law Jeff gave me a piece of salt (yes, actual salt) straight from the belly of the earth.

Isn't it pretty??

I was going for an "iceberg in the ocean" kind of feel with this picture, what do you think of it?

Day 3!

I'm doing it, Adeena, I'm doing it!! XD

Mmmmm hot chocolate. I love sipping a steaming mug of hot cocoa at night while relaxing with my hubby, it's a great way to unwind after a long day at work.

See the heart?? I thought it was cute, so I took a picture of my mug for my project 358. :)

I ♥ Faces - Smile!

When you're smilin', when you're smilin'
The whole world smiles with you.
When you're laughin', when you're laughin'
The sun comes shinin' through.
But when you're cryin', you bring on the rain,
So, stop your sighin', be happy again!
Keep on smilin, 'cause when you're smilin'
the whole world smiles with you.

Smiling is one of Ducky's favourite things to do! :)

And he's just so darn cute when he does!

Go see more smiling faces at i heart faces, and wish them a Happy Birthday while you're there! :)

This is picture number 2 in my project 358. ;)

I was checking my email on the computer when I realized that everything outside was covered in frost. That is my great big century old chestnut tree (that I LOVE), and I thought it looked interesting from inside the house.

....seee? I told you no more scary eyebrow pictures. You thought I was joshing, but I was serious! :)

Project 358!

Because I'm way too late to do Project 365.
Adeena, you win. I'm going to do it. I totally blame you for this picture, because the baby was sleeping and I was making supper and putting away dishes and folding laundry and then I remembered "Oh noes I have to take a picture of something!" and then the only thing I could think of was some kind of self portrait.

SO I BLAME YOU.

Oh sweet Georgia I need an emergency eyebrow wax...... Golly goodness. (btw my new years resolution was to stop swearing so %$#& much)

Those are my eyeballs.

And my oh-so-scary hairy eyebrows, which thank goodness are blond -in other words not very visible- or else I think your eyeballs would hold a mutiny and leap out of their sockets. "Aahhhhhhhgh! We prefer deeeeeath!" {That's them screaming on the way down... if you didn't know.}

Do you see those scars on my forehead, just above my eyebrows? "Aaahhhhgh!" Yes, yes, I know. Anyway, my brother is the one that scarred me! My beautiful, beautiful face! He threw a block of wood at my head. I don't remember why.... likely because I took a block of WOOD to the face! Der.

I think it was accidental, at least that's what he said. I'm willing to believe that.... this time.

I do have a point to all this! My forehead is scarred for life. My eyebrows are scary. You looking at them put your eyeballs in danger, and at the very least scarred your psyche. I'm sorry for scarring you for life like Matt scarred me. Or something. Actually, no, I'm not.

I don't know if I have the resolve to keep at this project, but I'll do my darndest. And I promise, no more scary eyebrow pictures.

.........maybe

16 months!

That's how long my baby has been living outside of my uterus.

Did I just make you squirm with the word uterus? It makes my Father-in-law squirm.

I said it casually one day when I was pregnant with Ducky, because I was having a braxton-hick contraction and was in a bit of pain, and he asked me what was wrong. I said "My uterus is practicing for contractions, it's pretty painful..." and his face went green, then white, then green again, and he walked away.

He should never have revealed his weakness to me.... because now I take every opportunity to creep him out.

"Sarah, do you want a tea?" My father-in-law asks.

"Uterus, I mean... sure." *evil smile*

Father-in-law then commences shuddering, followed by a gargantuan eyeroll, and a curse upon all blond daughters-in-laws. At which point I remind him that I'm his only blond daughter-in-law, and he should be more subtle.

Anyway, it seems like it's been a year since I've blogged last! Has it been?

Well, it's been since last year.

It was only yesterday that I realized, with a jolt of horror coursing down my spine, that I had failed to take Ducky's 16 month pictures in December.  I was shocked and appalled, yes I was... well, not really. Life happens, and sometimes even the most organized and meticulous of us let some of the details slide once in a while. I say "Meh!" and roll with the punches.

However! Once I realized my mistake, I took action! Today was a beautiful sunny day, so D-man and I spent an hour outside, playing in the snow. I brought my camera with me, and got some pictures taken! :)

(He looks SO MUCH like his big cousin Rowan in this picture... I swear, their smiles are identical!)

Isn't he gorgeous? Of course he is.

He's weaned now, which was about as fun as getting my breasts trampled by wildebeests...

I'm just glad it's over.

He's eating real people food way better now, and I think he's even gained more weight! I should weigh him and see. I'll do that tomorrow.

For now, I should leave this alone, before I mention more of my body parts.

Happy 2011! :)
